Text

June Night
by Ella Higginson

The sunset burns along the hill
And all the stars come out too soon,
And lovely restless Venus lies
In the curled arm of the moon.

Venus, thou art a light o’ love!
Now by the ardent moon caressed,
Midnight shall find thee trembling down
To the sea’s strong throbbing breast.
