Text
By a departing light (poem 1714)
by Emily Dickinson
By a departing light
We see acuter, quite,
Than by a wick that stays.
There’s something in the flight
That clarifies the sight
And decks the rays.
"By a Departing Light" is the third song of Libby Larsen's song cycle Chanting to Paradise, which sets the poetry of Emily Dickinson.
