African American Music Conference 2020

From September 18-20, 2020, Dr. Louise Toppin, Videmus, and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance will host a conference on African American Music. Whether the conference will take place in Michigan, or remotely, is yet to be determined. Please stay tuned to Facebook and our website for more details.
This conference focuses on the curation of music of the African Diaspora for future research and performance and will celebrate the birthday of Willis Patterson, whose groundbreaking anthologies of African American classic song are still central to the repertoire today. We hope you can join the Hampsong Foundation in taking part in this exciting event!
