American composer Amy Beach (1867-1944) was key in paving the way for today's women composers. Celebrate the 150th anniversary of her birth this year at a conference Sept. 15-16, 2017 at the University of New Hampshire–there is currently a call for papers (submission deadline: April 1, 2017).
