Leonora Speyer

Leonora Speyer, a violinist as well as a poet, won the 1927 Pulitzer Prize for her volume Fiddler's Farewell.

Speyer, who was born in Washington D.C., studied music in several places in Europe, including Paris, Brussels, and Leipzig. After marrying for the second time and moving back to America (from London), Speyer began writing poetry in 1915.
