Susan Snively taught at Amherst College for 27 years before retiring in 2008. She currently works as a guide at the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts. She has published four books of poetry.

Her poetry is featured in the AIDS Quilt Songbook song “Fury,” with music by Donald Wheelock.
