Franklin Pierce Adams

Franklin Pierce Adams was a famous columnist, satirist, and radio personality. His column "The Conning Tower", which shifted between a variety of newspapers in New York City at the beginning of the 20th century, launched the careers of many famous writers.

    Pierce was one of the first writers to take an interest in the works of writers Edna St. Vincent Millay and Dorothy Parker, as well as many others. He wrote many volumes of poetry, including Tobogganing On Parnassus (1911). He also wrote satirical books/articles, short stories, and translations.
