About

He is known for the eco-conscious perspective of his poetry, and is also grouped with the San Francisco Renaissance poets. Snyder's poetry is imbued with a deep spirituality, which stems from his own beliefs as a Zen Buddhist. He taught at the University of California, Davis for many years.
