About

Born in Detroit, Christopher Berg studied piano at Manhattan School of Music and is largely self-taught as a composer.

Berg’s most well-known compositions are his twelve Songs on Poems by Frank O’Hara, composed from 1985-88. He has been the recipient of grants from Meet the Composer, American Music Center, The National Endowment for the Arts, the Martha Baird Rockefeller Fund for Music, and has been a Yaddo fellow.
