Hampsong & Star Spangled Music

By Song of America

The Hampsong Foundation has joined with the Star Spangled Music Foundation, with resources located at http://starspangledmusic.org/, to celebrate the bicentennial of America’s national anthem in 2014.

In addition to promoting the mission and activities of the Star Spangled Music Foundation, the Hampsong Foundation will directly participate in the Teacher’s Institute “Banner Moments: The National Anthem in American Life” that will be held by the Star Spangled Music Foundation in the summer of 2014. Baritone Thomas Hampson will perform a recital of songs that help tell the story of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The recital will be held at the Library of Congress on July 3, 2014.

The Star Spangled Music Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, is building a broad network of organizations (ensembles, museums, cultural organizations, foundations, etc.) to share news of activities related to American music and especially to create, test, revise and share educational materials for use during the bicentennial of the U.S. national anthem—”The Star-Spangled Banner.” Please visit the StarSpangledMusic.org website for more information.
