Frederick Peterson was an American neurologist and writer. In the world of American song, he is known for his text "The Sweetest Flower," which was set by James Hotchkiss Rogers as the popular song "At Parting."

Born in Minnesota, Peterson studied at the University of Buffalo and at universities throughout Europe.
