Born in New York City, Cora Randall Fabbri died of pulmonary illness at the age of 21, a little more than a week before her first and only book of poetry, Lyrics, was published.

When Fabbri’s father died in 1883, she and her family moved back to their native Italy, settling in Florence. Fabbri’s poetry has been set by Amy Marcy Beach and English composer Liza Lehmann.
