James Aikman

James Aikman has set the poetry of several American writers, including that of Jimmy Carter in Aikman's 2009 work Some Things I Love for male and female soloists, chorus, and orchestra.

About

Born in Indianapolis, James Aikman studied at Indiana University. After studying on a Fulbright in Amsterdam, Aikman accepted a fellowship at the University of Michigan and spent many years teaching there, as well as at Butler University and Indiana University. He has served as the Composer-in-Residence of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra since 2013.
